Extended bio
Fewa (born Omotola Praise Ijaola) is a Nigerian Pop, R&B and Neo-Soul singer-songwriter shaping West Africa's alternative music landscape through emotionally rich storytelling. Inspired by a childhood soundtrack of R&B, jazz, pop, rock and soul, she writes music that explores healing, hope, love and self-discovery.
Her journey began in Kaduna, where she wrote and recorded for local artists, before she emerged as a standout talent while studying Chemistry at Bayero University, Kano. Her debut release, Serenity (2022), was followed by the single Fall In (2023) and collaborations with Eazy Bob Wizzy, Logik Tha Pro, Rico Maz and producer Afroselecta BBK.
Her sophomore EP, Rewind (2025), established her as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary Nigerian R&B. The Guardian Nigeria awarded it 8/10, describing “a coming-of-age story of a young woman navigating life, love and self-development”, and Digimillennials praised its replay value and intimate songwriting. The Lagos Review called her single Dare To Say a nostalgic yet urgent reflection on modern Nigerian life.
On stage, Fewa headlined The Rewind Experience in Kaduna in December 2025 and performed at Hertitude in Lagos in 2026. Beyond music she is a graphic designer who creates her own cover art, and an advocate for women's and girl-child health.
